Candidates who have registered themselves for junior college admission can check their registration and allotment result from the official admission website.As per admission time table, CAP Round 1 and quota admissions started on 29 May 2026 and will continue till 3 June 2026 at 6 PM.Candidates who have been allotted a junior college have to complete the admission formalities within the stipulated time.According to a TNN report, the first FYJC merit list released on May 29 saw a marginal drop of up to 2 percentage points in the cut-off in many colleges in Mumbai. Academics attributed the trend in part to an increase in the admissions schedule by about a month compared to previous years, which may have caused some students to miss the early application window.Maharashtra recorded a seven-year Lower Secondary School Certificate (SSC) pass percentage of 90.75 percent this year, a factor that may have influenced admission trends, the report said. In the Mumbai region, 1,33,323 out of 2,11,660 registered applicants secured seats in the first round, while students have been given time till June 3 to confirm their admission.
The CAP Round 1 Admission window opens.
As per the admission schedule, CAP Round 1 and quota admissions are scheduled to start on 29 May 2026 from 12 noon, and will continue on 3 June 2026 till 6 pm.Students who are allotted in any junior college have to go through the admission process during the specified period. Students who are satisfied with the allotted junior college need to visit the allotted junior college, verify the documents and pay the admission fee.Failure to complete the admission process within the given period may affect the candidate’s eligibility for the allotted seat.
More than 20 lakh seats are available in Maharashtra.
The state has provided massive intake capacity for FYJC admissions this year. Official data shows that a total of 20,30,333 seats are being offered in all junior colleges in Maharashtra.Of these, 16,10,293 seats fall under the Centralized Admission Process (CAP), while 4,59,653 seats are reserved under various quota categories. The availability of larger seats is expected to accommodate the increasing number of students taking admission in Class 11 streams including Science, Commerce and Arts.
