The actress is married to Mahaakshay Chakraborty, son of a veteran actor Mithun Chakrabortyhe recalled how a ‘famous filmmaker’ made an inappropriate request at a meeting when he was just 19 years old.

“I’m an actor, not here to prove it”

Speaking on Haterrfly, Madalsa revealed that the filmmaker called her into a meeting and asked her if she would be comfortable wearing a bikini. Although he didn’t see it as a major problem at first, he wanted to clarify whether it was relevant to the script or not.“I was about 19 at the time. He told me he was looking for a girl who was comfortable in a bikini. I thought it was no big deal, but I wanted to understand the story, was it justified or something,” she shared.However, things took an awkward turn when the filmmaker asked her to wear a bikini in front of him “to check her body language”.Recalling her response, Madalsa said, “I told her that I am an actress by profession. If a role requires a bikini, a saree or a lehenga, I am comfortable doing it in front of the camera because that is my job. But dressing up in front of you is not part of my job.”He added that he made his position clear, telling the filmmaker that he could cast him based on his talent—or he would leave. “If you trust my talent, you can fire me. If not, I know where the door is,” he said.

“Later they found out they were dating”

Madalsa also revealed that she found out a few days later that the filmmaker had cast someone else for the same project – and that they were dating.Madalsa made her acting debut in 2009 with the Telugu film Fitting Master and Shourya, Samrat & Co. and acted in films like Ram Leela. However, it was her role in Anupamaa starring Rupali Ganguly that brought her widespread recognition.
