Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai shared a group photo from the evening on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the star-studded encounter. The photo featured Salman Khan, Sooraj Barjatya, David Dhawan, Kabir KhanRumi Jafry, Riteish Deshmukh, Chitrangada Singh, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Apoorva Lakhia and others. The screening was a reunion of sorts, with Salman sharing a long and warm history with almost every filmmaker in the room. He has collaborated with Sooraj Barjatya in iconic films including ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. His collaboration with Kabir Khan has resulted in hits like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Tubelight’, while his work with David Dhawan includes hits like ‘Judwaa’, ‘Biwi No.1’ and ‘Partner’. The evening was, by all accounts, a reunion of old friends gathered behind a film with a meaningful story.
About ‘Maatrubhumi: May war rest in peace’
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and earlier titled ‘Battle of Galwan’, the film is said to be based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. The film was originally slated for release in April 2026, but was pushed back amid changes, including a revision of the title. The authors have not yet officially released a final date. Salman has been actively promoting the project on social media, sharing songs and promotional videos ahead of its release.
