CHENNAI: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu today announced the TN SSLC Result 2026 with the state securing an overall pass rate of 94.31% in the Class 10 public examinations. The SSLC exams were held across the state from March 11 to April 6.Among the standouts this year, M Suganthi of Ashoknagar Girls Higher Secondary School secured 496 out of 500 marks and emerged among the city toppers in Chennai. She also secured the second position among female students of city government schools after the announcement of the results of the 10th class board exams.M. Aim to advance civil servicesSpeaking to TOI after the results were declared, Suganthi said she plans to take up business mathematics in higher secondary education before preparing for civil services.“I want to take up business mathematics and later pursue civil services,” she told TOI.In a lighter moment, he also spoke about his desire to meet Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay after his performance in the exams.“I secretly wished to be called to the chief minister’s office to congratulate him. My mother and I are his biggest fans. I would like to meet him and share this wonderful news,” he told TOI.Tamil Nadu’s record improved overall performanceTamil Nadu recorded an overall pass percentage of 94.31 per cent in SSLC examinations this year, slightly better than last year’s 93.80 per cent. A total of 8,70,643 students appeared for the exams across the state.In the board exams, girls scored 96.47% over boys, while boys scored 92.15%. This year, the performance gap between girls and boys was 4.32 percentage points.Thousands of schools got 100% resultsThe Directorate of Government Examinations has reported that 5,171 schools have secured 100% pass percentage in SSLC examinations this year. Of these, 1,931 were government schools.In total, 12,467 schools participated in the Class 10 public examinations held in Tamil Nadu. Board data also shows that 8,233 schools recorded a pass percentage of more than 95 per cent.Students can continue to download provisional scorecards through tnresults.nic.in, dge.tn.gov.in, DigiLocker and other official platforms. Online mark sheets contain subject wise marks, total score and qualifying status.
