A new video game is being released for fans of the ‘Bond’ franchise, and people can’t seem to get enough of it. Ahead of the official unveiling, acclaimed singer Lana Del Rey headlines the game with a new and special theme song.
Lana Del Rey to work on the theme for the next ‘James Bond’ game
The upcoming game, ‘007 First Light’, will feature a theme song directed by famous singer Lana Del Rey. According to the BBC, it has been confirmed that the singer, known for hits like ‘Summertime Sadness’, ‘Say Yes To Heaven’ and ‘Diet Mountain Dew’, worked with renowned songwriter David Arnold on the theme song. The song is called ‘Lehen Argia’ and has a duration of 3 minutes and 24 seconds. David Arnold has worked on the music for five James Bond films prior to this project, building anticipation for the next song and the video game itself. Arnold also expressed his excitement about working with Lana Del Rey on the song, “I was so excited to work with Lana, she brought elegance, atmosphere and her own unique character to this piece, which I hope will open up the world of Bond to a new audience.”“According to the composer, the song is a mix of “a long line of genre-defining songs.”In 2024, Del Rey talked about how she wanted to work at the mall in a movie about the world’s most famous spy, and wrote her song ’24’ with that in mind. At the time, Sam Smith and their song, ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ was chosen as the theme song for the 007 film that year, although the singer kept his hopes up.
About ‘007 First Light’
The story of the video game has you playing as a freelancer, following James Bond as he gets recruited into MI6 and goes on crime-solving missions. This is the first game about agent 007 since the release of ‘007 Legends’ in 2012. Lana Del Rey will perform the song, and Patrick Gibson will play the role of James Bond 007 agent. Famous singer Lenny Kravitz will also be joining the game, and it has been confirmed that he will be voicing the main villain, Bawma’s character. The game will be officially released in May this year, and the song is now available to stream on various platforms.
