The veteran actor recently attended the Madison FYC panel in Los Angeles, where he opened up about finally living in Colorado. The actor was in LA for a large part of his life; however, he made the decision to move to Colorado with his partner Goldie Hawn. For the uninitiated, the two have lived there since Russell was 26, and even built their own cabin from the ground up.Speaking to PEOPLE, the actress shared that moving to Colorado has allowed her to live her life the way she wants. He also said that he does “things he wants to do every day.” Adding to the theme, he said, “What I want to see, what I want to be a part of, all the things that Colorado has to offer. I wanted to finally get into the ranch life.”Also, that he and Goldie have successfully created a beautiful life for themselves, and that after building a ranch, the whole family grew up here, more than 40 years ago.

During the interview, he also explained how and why he made the decision to leave. He stated that he was simply doing what he wanted in his time. Not only that, but the actor also shared that since moving away from LA was not at all common on the show at the time, many people told him it was the end of his career.Elaborating on the matter, he said, “I wasn’t running away. I was living where I live. I was lucky that it really didn’t make a difference. But when I did it, no one else was doing it. A lot of people said to me, ‘Well, that’s goodbye. That’s it.” I said: ‘Well, we’ll see’”.Over the years, the 75-year-old actor has repeatedly said that his property in Colorado is his happy place and that he is very happy living there. Speaking to Fox News in March, the actress also listed the things she liked about her home there, saying, “What I like the most is. [Hawn] he likes it a lot in Colorado. Wyatt (her son), Meredith and their two boys now live in Colorado. So we like to spend as much time as possible.“
