Suriya’s action-fantasy entertainer ‘Karuppu’ got a big boost at the box office in its third weekend. The film saw a sharp rise in collections and showed renewed momentum after slower weekday numbers.
Strong weekend growth pushes ‘Karuppu’ numbers up
‘Karuppu’ saw a huge surge on the 16th day. According to Sacnilk, the Day 16 collection of 5.15 crore was a growth of 58.5% from the Day 15 collection of 3.25 crore.On day 16, ‘Karuppu’ collected Rs 5.15 crore from 3,292 shows. This took the total net collection in India to 176.55 crores. The film’s gross collection in India now stands at Rs 204.21 crore.‘Karuppu’ ended its first week with 113.85 crores. The second week brought another 54.30 crore to the total. The film collected 10.70 crores on day 6 and 8.10 crores on day 7 in its opening week. In the second week, day 13 brought 4 crores and day 14 brought 4.95 crores.
Karuppu’s overseas performance continues steadily
International markets also continued to add to the film’s growing worldwide numbers. The film collected 2 crores overseas on the 16th day. The total overseas collections have reached 77.75 crores. ‘Karuppu’ now has 281.96 million hits worldwide. The film is approaching the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide.Tamil Nadu collected ₹4.50 crore in gross collections. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana followed with Rs 78 lakh. Karnataka contributed Rs 45 lakh and Kerala contributed Rs 15 lakh. Rest of India market brought in another Rs5 lakh.Tamil occupation also remained healthy throughout the day.
