The filmmakers have credited makeup artists Minnal Moorthy, Selvam and Muruganantham who played a pivotal role in bringing the character to life. After the release of the film, some social media users speculated that a body double or another performer may have been used for parts of the Kavakara Karuppu song and the climax sequence. On the other hand, the videos uploaded by BTS show that Suriya himself prepared and acted the part.
