Suriya’s ‘Karuppu’ is showing impressive staying power at the box office. Even after 26 days in theaters, the film continues to attract audiences and add to its impressive total.According to Sacnilk, the fantasy film earned Rs 45 lakhs in India on 26 days. The collection represents a decline of 15.1 percent compared to Day 25 when the film collected Rs 53 lakhs.Although the daily collections have naturally slowed down after almost four weeks in theaters, ‘Karuppu’ has managed to maintain a steady run.
Worldwide gross reaches 305.46 million
The film’s worldwide gross collection now stands at 305.46 crores. In India, the film has accumulated 194.38 crores in net collections. Its domestic gross collection has reached 224.66 crores.‘Karuppu’ added Rs 10 lakh overseas on day 26. This took the international gross collection to 80.80 crores.
‘Karuppu’s good performance over four weeks
‘Karuppu’ had a great start in its opening week. The film collected 113.85 million euros in its first seven days in cinemas.The second week also remained strong. The film added 54.30 crore nett to the total. During this period weekday collections remained stable and helped to maintain the momentum. The third week brought in 21.20 crores nett.Now in its fourth week ‘Karuppu’ is still generating daily revenue. The steady run has played a crucial role in helping the film cross Rs 300 crore worldwide. On day 26, the Tamil version collected 40 lakhs nett. The Telugu version added 5 lakhs nett. Both versions contributed to the day’s total.‘Karuppu’ was aired in 896 shows on the 26th day. The Tamil version had an overall occupancy of 21.12 percent. Night shows had the highest occupancy with 24.36 percent. The afternoon and evening shows also reported healthy attendance levels.Tamil Nadu was the biggest market for the film on the 26th day. The state contributed Rs 41 lakh gross to Rs 51 lakhs per day.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added 7 lakhs gross.
