Suriya and Trisha Krishnan starrer ‘Karuppu’ saw a sharp drop in collections on its eighteenth day at the box office. The film had a stronger weekend performance. However, weekday numbers have slowed down significantly now.According to Sacnilk estimates, the action drama collected Rs 2.40 crore on its 18th day in India. The latest figure represents a 59.3 percent drop from the 5.90 crore collected on Day 17.
Karuppu’s numbers in India continue to grow
The latest collection has taken ‘Karuppu’ to Rs 184.85 crores in India. The gross collection in India has now reached 213.75 crores.Day 18 earnings came from 3,141 shows across the country. Tamila was the main contributor to the film’s business.The Tamil version generated Rs 2.05 crore on the 18th day. The Telugu version added Rs 35 lakh to the grand total.Tamil occupancy was 20.85 per cent on the day. Night shows had 24 percent occupancy and were the strongest period.Meanwhile, the Telugu version registered an overall occupancy of 10.33 percent on the 18th day.
Overseas market adds more support to Trisha Krishnan film
‘Karuppu’ collected Rs 50 lakh overseas on its eighteenth day. The total overseas earnings have increased to 78.25 crores. Today, the worldwide total is 292 million euros.The State made a contribution of 2.10 million euros on the 18th day. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added Rs 45 lakh. Karnataka collected Rs 11 lakh and Kerala collected Rs 9 lakh.‘Karuppu’ is billed as a mythological mass entertainer directed by RJ Balaji.
