Karisma Kapoor he recently received a touching tribute from his sister Kareena Kapoor KhanHe described her as the pillar of the Kapoor family and admitted that life would be unimaginable without her elder sister.In an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, Karisma was surprised with an audio message from Kareena, who fondly referred to herself as Karisma’s ‘first daughter’.
Kareena Kapoor calls Karisma ‘nation’s darling’
In her emotional message, Karisma spoke about her lasting impact on Bollywood and her role within the family.“Karisma ke bare me jitna bhi bolo kam hai. It’s a common thing to say, but for me, it’s very difficult to say something about Lolo because she is not only a really wonderful human being, but also a devoted mother, a very hardworking actress,” said Kareena.Praising her sister’s legacy, she added: “To this day I think every actress in our country looks up to Lolo because they want to be like her. They want to dress like him. They want to be like him. They want to dance like him. I think every actress wants that adulation that Lolo had in the ’90s, that mainstream mass-superstar heroine.”Kareena went on to call Karisma the “nation’s darling” and credited her for bringing the family together.“Most of all, I think someone who takes care of our family like a queen. I don’t think this family, or at least me, my parents, my children… I think we would all be lost without Lolo and she knows it.”The actress ended the post by saying, “It’s absolutely amazing to have her as a sister and actually I think I’m like her first daughter before Samaira, as she says. So thank you for being her and thank you for everything, Lolo.”
Karisma Kapoor: “Family is family and family comes first”
When asked how she feels as an inspiration not only to the audience but also to her family members, Karisma humbly replied.“I don’t think about all these things, in fact, I do it from the heart. It’s natural. It’s just a spill. It just comes. It’s never been thought of,” he said.For the actor, family has always been his top priority.“Family is family and family first and foremost.”
“Mothers and daughters will always be mothers and daughters”
The conversation also turned to motherhood, with Karisma admitting that the classic mother-daughter dynamic plays out in her home as well.“Obviously, mothers and daughters will be mothers and daughters. So sometimes what I say is, ‘Don’t argue with your mother.’ I told one of my daughters the other day,” he laughed.Karisma said that despite raising independent daughters, there are some things that never change.“It’s nice to raise your daughters to be independent women on their own. That’s what you bring them up for. I didn’t raise my daughters to be dependent on me in any way. But they’re always going to need your mother, for one reason or another.” So I’m always on their side.”
When daughter Alia became a mother
Reflecting on how motherhood changes perspectives, Karisma revealed that daughter Alia had a new appreciation for her after becoming a parent herself.“When she became a mother, she said to me, ‘Now I understand a lot more why you said what you said and why you’re so paranoid.’Although she laughs at the charisma label, she admits that her children might agree.“I wouldn’t say I’m paranoid, but my kids will probably say I am.”
“They have to make their own mistakes”
The actor also spoke about the balance between protecting children and allowing them to learn from their experiences.“I don’t want to be that mom who keeps telling them to do this and not do that,” she said.“They have to discover it and make their own mistakes because you’re only going to learn when you make your own mistakes. You’re not going to learn because I tell you to.”Karisma adds that she has consciously learned to refrain from offering constant advice.“As a mother you want to give advice. I’m learning to control myself as much as I can.”
