Kangana Ranaut has relived a troubled phase of her past after a former partner sued her for intense personal attacks and a “witch hunt”.Speaking to ANI, Kangana said that it became a public narrative that painted the situation in an extreme and harmful light.“My ex presented me with a case… and besides, kuch khade ho gaye ki ye to chudail hai khoon peeti hai kaale kamre mein kaale parde lagake kaala jaadu karti hai (Some people stood up and said she is a witch, she drinks blood, she does black magic). So there was an obvious witch-hunt and witch-hunt. Almost 26 or 27 years. So when I’m going to be treated like that, why should I make them look good...I have no reason to look good,” he said.Looking back at that time, the actor said he handled the situation as best he could.“Even today, when I look back, I think I was doing the best I could,” she said, adding that she drew inner strength from her journey and accomplishments.

His remarks come in the backdrop of allegations made by ex-partner Adhyayan Suman, who said in an interview to DNA in 2016 that she was asked to participate in unusual rituals.“One day, Kangana called me home to do some puja at night… She covered it in black, including black curtains… There were some random statues of God, around the fire… She asked me to chant some mantras and locked me up. I was terrified,” she said, adding that she later asked him to perform rituals in a graveyard.
Defamation complaint in 2017
Separately, in 2017, Aditya Pancholi and his wife Zarina Wahab filed a defamation complaint against Kangana and her sister Rangoli Chandel in an Andheri court over their statements related to their relationship with Pancholi.
