Almost a decade after his explosive debut Coffee with Karan, Kangana Ranaut He has recovered the moment that stunned him Karan Johar and ignited one of Bollywood’s most enduring controversies.
‘There was a time I wanted to enter’
In a recent interview with ANI, Kangana was asked if the notes — including the calls — are now iconic. Karan “flag bearers of nepotism”—were written or spontaneous.“I think, listen. Kya hota hai na jaise maine aapko kaha ki ek waqt hota hai jab aapko lagta hai ki you want to come in. Aur ek waqt hai when you stand out. You are already standing out, why do you want to come in then? People used to ignore me. mazaak udaya, meri English ka mazaak udaya Maine unke saath ek film bhi ki thi jisme jo kahani thi usme mujhe ekdum hi alag side mein waala role de diya,” he said.
“They would wipe me off the face of the earth”
Kangana explained that her response to the show was shaped by repeated experiences of being sidelined and targeted.“Toh ek tarah se jo jo humane experiences hote hai, hum sochte hai ki, ek hadh tak aapko lagta hai ki humein sabke saath, mil jul kar chalna chaiye. Lekin jab woh ek hi tarfa humesha hota hai, aap ki prayaas jab hota hai, toh fir usme toh in time chal nahi rahe toh. wajah se main success nahi hu Inka bas agar chale and I can say, they will wipe me off the face of the earth, absolutely, you don’t have to exist alone. That kind of PR, that kind of malice, the cases that were put on me, those kinds of groupings happened. So when that kind of situation happened, it made the main kyu look like karu? Why do I have to pretend and make them look good?’ he added.
“I don’t think Karan Johar is a bad person”
While her comments then led to a frosty equation with Karan Johar, Kangana now says she doesn’t see it negatively.“I don’t think Karan Johar is a bad person. You know, I think he’s very proud of being shallow, sly, flashy. He likes that. He’s very proud of that, and I think he has an amazing sense of humor. So I don’t think I have a problem with Karan Johar,” she said.
The moment sparked a bigger debate
