Junaid Khan has reacted to Sai Pallavi

Junaid Khan he is still finding his footing film industryhis recent projects received a mixed response. While his debut film Maharaj won critical acclaim, his theatrical ventures ‘Loveyapa’ and ‘Ek Din’ struggled at the box office. The last version, Ek Din, was sponsored by his father Aamir Khanit also failed commercially as expected.Addressing the film’s disappointing run, Junaid admitted that the team had higher expectations from the project. He said: “We were hopeful. But I think… It didn’t go well. It happens sometimes. It’s a movie that I really liked, I really liked it. I think we all liked it and we liked it, and I think… a lot of people liked it, but I think most people didn’t like it. That happens sometimes,” he said in an interview with Vickey Lalwani. When asked how Aamir Khan reacted to the film’s poor box office performance, Junaid revealed that his father still invests emotionally in every project he produces. “He’s still hopeful. Yeah, even after all these years, after seeing everything, it still bothers him. But he keeps busy and he goes back to it, and he goes back there and he does it again.”He also addressed the comments made by the actor Sai Pallaviwho recently made her Bollywood debut with Ek Din and which suggested that she might be cast badly in the film. Clarifying the statement, Junaid explained, “She didn’t say that. She was misquoted when we were talking, when she saw the film for the first time and Sai Pallavi is a bit of a shy person, so she wasn’t too thrilled with her performance. We all think the film is spectacular. But he is the person who says “I could have done better” or “Maybe there should be someone else”.In the same interaction, Junaid also revealed why he has been cautious about discussing scripts with Aamir before signing a project. Laughing at that, he said, “No, because I made that mistake with Ek Din.”He explained that he had to produce the film in the beginning Siddharth P MalhotraWhich was directed by Maharaj, and was expected to start soon after that film. However, things changed when Aamir heard the narration of the script.“I thought, ‘OK, am I going to get a second opinion from my dad? I really like him, but maybe I should get a second opinion from him.’ So I created a narrative. And so when the narration happened, the father liked it very much. And he said, ‘Siddharth, let me produce it’. Suddenly he said: “I want to do it. I love it so much, sell it to me. I finally have the opportunity to make a film for my son, everyone is making a film for him.’ It was a rather emotional decision.Junaid reflected on how the involvement of Aamir Khan Productions affected the timeline of the project. “I think he’s a great producer, especially for a film like Ek Din. But what happens in the end is that it takes five years to make. AKP (Aamir Khan Productions) is a big production banner, it takes time. That’s when I realized, if I take it to my father and I love it, he’ll say, ‘I’ll produce’, and then I’ll release the film in five years. Which is great for him. He’s at a stage in his career where he can make a film in five years, I’m exaggerating a bit, I think, but yes, he can make a film in three years, four years, five years, and that’s fine. But I’m just getting started. I need to have a steady stream of work. And dad is now dying to do another movie with me, but I say ‘in a little while’.’the director Sunil PandeyEk Din is jointly produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit. The film is adapted from the 2016 Thai romantic drama One Day and revolves around a young man secretly in love with his colleague, whose wish to spend a day with him unexpectedly comes true. According to Sacnilk, the film earned 5.4 crores worldwide in 11 days of its release.
