In a recent interview, Junaid opened up about his parents’ divorce and hooking up with his father’s ex-wife and current girlfriend. Aamir has often said that he shares a warm equation with his ex-wives, Reena and Kiran. Although the actor is currently in a relationship with Gauri Spratt, the family remains close.Junaid reflected on Aamir and Reena’s divorce in 2002 and how it affected him as a child. In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, she said, “Our parents were quite mature about it. Two good people are not always good together. I had two happy parents, even though they are not together, along with unhappy parents. So I think it worked out,” she said.Junaid added that despite their separation, his parents always presented a united front while raising their children. Remembering his childhood, he said: “I must have been 7-8 years old, so of course I didn’t see it coming. But another thing, mom and dad have always been equal with us. The first time I knew they could agree on something was when I was 19.”He continued: “I don’t know what it was exactly, but they had an argument about something. My dad asked me, ‘How old are you?’ My mother replied, “He’s 19, now he can learn that we don’t agree on everything.” With us kids, they were always on the same page, they talked each other through every conversation and it went on. In fact, it still happens sometimes.”During the interview, Junaid also spoke warmly about Aamir Khan’s second wife Kiran Rao and described her as an important part of the family. “Yes. It’s not hard at all. She’s a beautiful person, very sweet and warm. We always got along very well. There was no fear on our part. I think all the adults in this situation were acting like adults, so it was very busy for our kids.”He also had kind words for Aami’s current girlfriend Gauri Spratt. “Gauri is beautiful, she’s very sweet. I’m really happy with her. I don’t know how long it was before she revealed it to the media. At the end of the day, it’s a personal relationship, and it’s going to stay that way.”When asked how he addresses Kiran and Gauri, Junaid reveals that their bond is casual and loving. “Today I only call her by her name. For the longest time, Kiran was Aunt Kiran. And at one point, when we were 15-16 years old, she asked me to call her by her name. We all live within 100 meters of each other.”
