The director, who is currently promoting Star Wars film ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’, contacted directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo to question the decision.Favreau, who helped launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe by directing ‘Iron Man’ (2008) and starring in the franchise as Tony Stark’s sidekick Happy Hogan, said, “I talked to Russo, I said, ‘I don’t know if people are going to like it… I don’t know, because that person was growing up, that character is really going to make an impact.'”However, he praised how the story turned out in the end, adding: “But I have to tell you, they handled it so well. And Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert did such a wonderful job of acting, and I think it added poignancy to it. I think they did a wonderful job. I was wrong.”Tony Stark’s death in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ not only ended the arc of one of the MCU’s most iconic characters, but also marked the end of the Infinity Saga.Robert Downey Jr. Dr. Victor Von Doom will now return as the famous villain for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’.
