15-year-old Vibhu Suryavanshi became the youngest player to reach 1000 runs in men’s T20 cricket, and he did it faster than anyone before him – getting there in just 473 balls, eclipsing the previous benchmark set by Mitchell Owen (533 balls).The youngster scored a 36-ball century in IPL 2026 – which is now the third-fastest century in the league’s history, behind only Chris Gayle’s stunning 30-ball century and his own 35-ball effort from last season.That innings was a statistical storm in itself. Suryavanshi hit 12 sixes, the most by an Indian in an IPL innings, with Murali Vijay and himself hitting a combined 11 sixes. In the entire history of the IPL, only a handful of innings have featured more.He now joins Abhishek Sharma in a select group of players with multiple IPL knocks of 10 or more sixes, while also becoming the first batsman to score multiple IPL centuries in less than 40 balls.
