New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 to book their place in the second consecutive IPL final. But one of the biggest talking points of the match was Sai Sudharsan’s freak dismissal, which also created an unwanted IPL record.During the chase, Sudharsan got out in a strange manner. While trying to play a shot at Jacob Duffy, his bat slipped from his hand and hit the ground before hitting the stumps. He was ruled a hit wicket and became the first player in IPL history to be dismissed twice. Soon after Sudharsan’s extraordinary dismissal, skipper Shibman Gill was bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for just two runs. Jos Buttler also failed to make an impact as wickets kept falling.At one stage, the GT was struggling at 51/5 and never really recovered. Rahul Tiyotia fought back with an innings of 68, but the target was too big. In the end, the Gujarat team was bundled out for 162.With the win, RCB entered their fifth IPL final, while Gujarat Titans will get another chance to qualify if they play the winner of the eliminator.
