New Delhi: Despite two consecutive defeats in IPL 2026, the head coach of Delhi Capitals Hemang Badani is confident that his team has identified its flaws and is ready to respond, insisting that the team has already “addressed” the areas of concern ahead of Saturday’s crucial clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League.Delhi have slipped into the bottom half of the table after defeats to Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, but Badani downplayed concerns about pace, instead focusing on clarity within the squad.IPL 2026: GT vs KKR Live Score‘We have solved the problem’“There is a lot of talk about pace in tournaments like this,” Badani said in the pre-match press conference. “But I think it’s more about figuring out what the area of concern is for a particular party. We’ve kind of figured it out, or at least we think we’ve nailed it.”
Praising his batsmen, Badani pointed out that the team has consistently put up competitive totals. He added, “We have scored 190 and 200. We lost one game by one run. In the last game too we scored around 180-190. It is a question of our batsmen coming good at the moment. I think we will be fine.”The faith of the youth is intact.Badani also threw his weight behind young fast bowler Aqib Nabi, who had a torrid debut against CSK, conceding 17 runs in two overs.“There are two things why we worked hard for him – his temperament and consistency,” explained Badani. “He’s kept the balance. A lot of players react differently to ups and downs, but he’s been the same the whole time.”“He has the talent to play at a high level. Everyone has nerves in the first game, but I think he will do well for us,” he added.RCB presented a tough challenge. In search of DC consistency, RCB have emerged as the most balanced side this season, led by the in-form Virat Kohliwho currently holds the Orange Cap. Importantly, RCB’s batting no longer revolves around Kohli alone, with Rajat Patidar, Dev Dutt Padikal, Phil Salt and Tim David strengthening their line-up.Patidar, in particular, has been phenomenal, topping the hit charts with six this season. For Delhi, inconsistency remains a major concern. Experienced names like KL Rahul, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs have struggled for rhythm, while captain Akshar Patel and spinner Kuldeep Yadav are yet to hit top form.
