New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets. Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, ending SRH’s five-match winning streak.Varun Chakraborty took 3 wickets for 36 runs. Sunil Narayan Claimed 2 for 31 as SRH were bundled out for 165 in 19 overs. KKR chase down the target with 10 balls to spare to register their third straight win.Chakraborty took at least two wickets for the fourth consecutive match. Narine also crossed a milestone of entering the 200-wicket club in the IPL. Playing his 197th match, Narine, who also opened the bowling for KKR, joins Bhuvneshwar Kumar (215 wickets in 199 matches) and Yuzvendra Chahal (228 wickets in 182 matches) on the list.
Chasing 166, KKR lost Finn Allen for 39 off 13 balls in the fourth over, when the score was 49. Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 43 runs off 36 balls and Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 59 runs off 47 balls. He added 84 runs for the second wicket in 11 overs.Rahane hit four fours and a six. Raghuvanshi hit five fours and two sixes. Rinku Singh ended the match with a boundary and remained unbeaten on 22 off 11 balls.Earlier, SRH got off to a good start after opting to bat. They were 77 for 1 after the power play and 107 for 2 at the halfway stage, with Travis Head scoring 61 off 28 balls. Ishan Kishan scored 42 runs off 29 balls.SRH then lost wickets quickly, losing nine wickets for 60 runs in the last 10 overs. This was the first time SRH was dismissed in IPL 2026.Karthik Tyagi took 2 wickets for 30 runs.Head hit nine fours and three sixes. He and Abhishek Sharma (15 off 10 balls) added 44 runs in 3.4 overs. Head also shared a 61-run partnership with Kishan.Head hit four fours in the second over off Vibhu Arora. He also hit a six and a four off Narine in the third over and three against Cameron Green in the fifth over.He was dismissed by Chakraborty on the last ball of the ninth over. SRH then lost control of the innings.Henrik Klaasen was dismissed for 11 after being caught by Rowman Powell at deep mid-wicket off Cameron Green. In the process, he injured himself. It was Classen’s lowest score of the season.
