The incident reportedly took place after Mumbai Indians defeated Punjab Kings by six wickets in Dharamsala – PBKS’ fifth consecutive defeat in IPL 2026.In a video that has gone viral on social media, Arshaddeep can be heard allegedly saying to Tilak, “Oy Andhere, put on sunscreen?” (Hey Dark Ones, did you put on sunscreen?)” Former Indian spinner Laxman Sivaram Krishnan was among the first to react to the incident. Recalling his experiences of facing comments about his skin color during his playing days, Sivaramkrishnan strongly condemned the comment.After watching the video, the former India cricketer – who played nine Tests and 16 ODIs – demanded strict action against Arshad and also called for a ban.“No one believed me. Everyone mocked and trolled me. Arshaddeep should be banned this season and paid a fair price. Today’s players should be hit where it hurts the most. I’m sure I’ll be trolled again,” Sivaramkrishnan posted on X.“I told you guys. Tilak can’t say anything now as he is in the early part of his career. But with this evidence BCCI can take action,” he said in another post. “If BCCI takes action, I will tell the names of those who racially abused me if BCCI takes action against them,” he said. Shivaramkrishnan recently alleged that some of his former Indian teammates called him “dark boy” because of the color of his skin.According to a report in The Indian Express, Shivaramkrishnan recalled an incident from India’s tour of Pakistan, when he was part of the national squad.He claimed that then captain Sunil Gavaskar had ordered a cake for him.However, the celebration turned into a painful memory that still haunts her. After Arshad’s video surfaced online, those memories reportedly came back to him.“Hey Sunny, you ordered the right color cake. Such a dark chocolate cake for a dark boy,” Shivaramkrishnan told a teammate to Gavaskar, The Indian Express reported.Shivaramkrishnan represented India between 1983 and 1987, playing nine Tests and 16 ODIs while taking a total of 41 wickets.
