IIT Delhi launched an industry membership program for long-term research and corporate collaboration.
New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has launched an industry membership program aimed at building long-term partnerships with companies through a structured and paid engagement model. The initiative will be implemented by the Institute’s Corporate Relations Office to strengthen collaboration between industry and academia in research, innovation and institutional activities.According to IIT DelhiThe program is designed to enable deeper linkages between faculty members and corporate organizations while supporting thematic research, innovative projects and broader academic outreach. Participating organizations will also have access to institutional facilities, including research laboratories, training programs and library resources.Membership categories and institutional accessThe program includes three categories of membership for organizations seeking long-term cooperation with the institution. Silver membership is priced at Rs 10 lakh per annum, Gold membership at Rs 20 lakh per annum and Platinum membership at Rs 50 lakh per annum.IIT Delhi said member organizations will get opportunities to engage with the institute in research, innovation, talent development and institutional initiatives. Companies joining the program will have early access to patents, technologies and research results developed at the institute.The institute said the program is designed to support sustainable collaboration between corporate partners and academic departments through dedicated relationship management and long-term engagement opportunities.Focus on research and industry collaboration.Key features of the program include opportunities for co-creation of research agendas, access to faculty expertise, research laboratories and thematic engagements. Participating organizations will also be part of industry engagement platforms such as CXO roundtables, leadership forums and corporate social responsibility conclaves, IIT Delhi added.Prof Jayant Jain, Dean of Corporate Relations at IIT Delhi, said the initiative will create a platform for sustained industry-academia engagement and support meaningful research collaborations and innovation-based partnerships involving organizations from different sectors.He added that the program is in line with India’s focus on strengthening indigenous research, innovation and industry-led research and development. According to him, this initiative is expected to contribute to the country’s larger objective of emerging as a global knowledge and technology powerhouse through strong collaboration between academic institutions and industrial partners.
