Rajpal Yadav He has opened up about the allegations of fraud against 5 million euros, saying that the issue has been misunderstood and unnecessary sensationalism.Speaking about the controversy, Rajpal Yadav said that if the number involved had been much larger, he would have understood the gravity of the allegations.
“5 million is not such a big number”
Responding to the allegations, Rajpal Yadav told Paras Chhabra, “5 crore is not such a big number. If it was 500 crore or 5000 crore, I would feel that maybe something massive has happened.”The actor further shared that he did not want to comment extensively on the matter as it is related to court proceedings.“I don’t want to talk much about this, because the orders given by the Honorable Court will be obeyed,” he said.
Rajpal Yadav explains the investment conflict
Explaining his side of the story, Rajpal Yadav stated that the matter was related to investment in a film project and not fraud. The actor revealed that the project was valued at 22 million and involved the work and money of several people.Using a metaphor to explain the situation, Rajpal compared filmmaking to making tea. “Tea is not made with just one thing. It has sugar, tea leaves, milk and the effort of many people behind it. Likewise, a film project also involves the money and hard work of many people,” he said.He added that damaging the reputation of a project before its release affects everyone associated with it.
“People miscommunicated the issue”
Rajpal Yadav also questioned why the matter was tagged as a scam publicly if there were proper loan and investment papers.“If it was a loan and all the papers are there, then why call it a fraud publicly? It was unnecessary publicity and people miscommunicated the issue in front of the public,” the actor said.He also said that the controversies even before its release caused huge financial damage to the project.According to Rajpal, the film involved nearly 200 artists and a cast of thousands, and was slated to open in 1,000 theaters before legal issues halted progress.
‘I am the son of a farmer’
During the interview, Rajpal Yadav became emotional as he talked about his roots and journey.“I am a farmer’s son. I have grown wheat, planted rice, worked in sugarcane fields and made jaggery with my own hands as a child,” he shared. The actor added that acting was never about money for him. “My village was sufficient for my sustenance and survival. I entered entertainment to satisfy my inner passion,” he said.Rajpal Yadav also defended the dignity of actors and said that performers are highly respected by the society.“An actor’s stature is never small. Kings and people everywhere honor artists with applause and respect,” he added.
The film project has not yet been released
Rajpal Yadav has revealed that the controversial film is yet to be sold or released and remains unreleased despite huge investments.“We can also show 52 episodes explaining where every rupee was spent. The project is still closed for now, but it will come out eventually,” he concluded.
