ICC T20I Rankings: India retain No. 1 spot - Where are Asian neighbors Pakistan and Sri Lanka?

In the latest update released on Tuesday, India topped the ICC Men’s T20I rankings, ahead of England and Australia. The Indian team recently created history by winning their third T20 World Cup title in March, becoming the first team to successfully defend the trophy. The tournament was jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.“The latest ranking is at 100 per cent for all matches played from May 2025 and 50 per cent for the last two years,” the ICC said on its website.India currently has 275 rating points. England is second with 262 points while Australia is third with 258 points. The gap between India and England has narrowed a bit but India is still comfortably on top.

Where are the Asian neighbors Pakistan and Sri Lanka?

The top seven teams have retained their positions in the rankings. New Zealand is fourth with 247 points, followed by South Africa (244), Pakistan (240) and West Indies (233).Sri Lanka slipped to ninth place with six rating points, while Bangladesh moved to eighth place with 225 points. Afghanistan is ranked 10th with 220 points, just behind Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe and Ireland remain at the 11th and 12th positions.“Cricket’s emerging powerhouse in North America, the United States, has jumped two places after gaining six points, moving itself to 13th, overtaking the Netherlands and Scotland, who are 14th and 15th respectively,” the ICC said.Namibia ranked 16th. Nepal moved ahead of the United Arab Emirates to 17th place, while Oman overtook Canada to 19th place.“The number of teams in the rankings has been reduced from 102 to 98 as Fiji, Gambia, Greece and Israel did not make the cut as they did not play the required eight T20Is in the last three years,” the ICC said.
