ICC ODI Rankings Update: India Retain Top, New Zealand Close Gap

India retained the No. 1 position in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings after the annual rankings update, although their lead over second-placed New Zealand narrowed.The update sees India drop one rating point, moving from 119 to 118, while New Zealand rises two points to 113. As a result, the gap between the top two sides has narrowed from eight points to five.World champions Australia held strong in third place with a rating of 103, maintaining the same number as before the update.

Only one positional change was seen in the top 10 rankings. South Africa has moved to fourth place with 102 rating points, ahead of Pakistan in fifth place with 100 points.Further down the table, the separation between Bangladesh and the West Indies has become more significant. Bangladesh remains in ninth place, but the margin on the Caribbean side has widened to 10 rating points.There have been several moves outside the top 10 as well. Ireland moved ahead of Zimbabwe to 11th place, while the United States moved past Scotland to 13th. Meanwhile, the UAE has overtaken Canada and is now ranked 19th.India’s dominance in white-ball cricket extends beyond the one-day format, with the team also retaining the No. 1 ranking in the ICC Men’s T20I standings following last week’s annual update. In the Test arena, Australia is the highest-ranked men’s team. Australia also leads both the ICC Women’s ODI and Women’s T20 rankings.
