IAF Recruitment 2026: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued a notification inviting applications for 47 Group ‘C’ civilian posts, including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Hindi Typist, and Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver. Recruitment process is being done under Advertisement No. 01/2026, Applications are accepted through offline mode.The application window is open from May 2, 2026. Candidates are required to submit the completed form by post to the respective Air Force Stations or Units. Last date for receipt of applications is 30 days from the date of publication of notification.Distribution of spaces in all commandsRecruitment involved several Air Force commands, including the Maintenance, Training, Central, Western, Eastern, Southwestern, and Southern Air Commands, along with independent units. Out of 47 posts, 37 posts are for LDC, 10 are for Hindi Typist, and 3 are for Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver.For LDC posts, the highest number of posts are under Headquarters Maintenance Command with 13 posts, followed by independent units with 7 posts. Hindi typist vacancies are spread across six commands, while driver vacancies are limited to three commands.

Eligibility Criteria and QualificationsCandidates applying for LDC and Hindi Typist posts should have passed class 12 from a recognized board and should have typing skill of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi. For driver posts, applicants must have a matric pass, a valid license for light and heavy vehicles, and at least two years of driving experience with knowledge of motor mechanisms.Age relaxation is applicable for certain categories, including OBC, SC/ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen, and departmental candidates, as per government norms.Application process and submission guidelinesApplicants should download the prescribed form from the 2-8 May 2026 issue of Employment News, and fill it in English or Hindi using block letters. Self-attested copies of documents like education certificate, proof of date of birth, caste certificate, and driving license should be attached.Candidates need to affix a recent photograph and send the application in an envelope clearly mentioning the post and category. Applications must reach the designated Air Officer Commanding or Station Commander within the prescribed period.Selection process and pay scaleThe selection process consists of a written test with full weightage, followed by aptitude skills or practical tests. LDC and Hindi typist candidates will undergo typing test, while driver applicants will face driving assessment.All the selected candidates will be placed under Level-2 of the 7th CPC pay matrix, with pay ranging from Rs.19,900 to Rs.63,200.
