Woh hamesha yehi kehte hai, cinema is a way to connect to the heart. He loved films, cameras. As his life partner, I saw how passionate he was. And he has touched the hearts of millions of people and his behavior towards everyone. He has inspired so many people, even young people, as an actor, as a friend, as a father. He was a great man and I was blessed to be with him. I miss him. I don’t know how I’ll do life without him, but that’s another thing.’ Earlier, the actor reacted when Dharmendra was posthumously honored with a Padma Vibhushan. He told ANI, “He makes us very happy, the whole country is happy. If he had come earlier, Dharmendra ji would have been very happy, and seeing him, his fans would have been even happier.” In a separate statement, Hema Malini described the recognition as long overdue: “So proud that the government has recognized Dharam ji’s immense contribution to the film industry by awarding him the prestigious Padma Vibhushan,” she said, expressing gratitude to the Center for recognizing his legacy.
