The Class 10 results, declared by the Board of School Education Haryana, reveal one stubborn weak link that refuses to go away: Mathematics.While the overall pass percentage in the regular category remains high at around 89.60%, and most subjects like Science, Social Science, Hindi and English comfortably cross the 90-98% pass mark, Mathematics tells a very different story.In the regular examination, Mathematics (Standard) has a pass record of 92.66%, which looks strong at first glance. But the real pressure point appears when the result breaks down into other learning pathways. In the reappearance category, Mathematics (standard) fell sharply to 24.53 per cent, while Mathematics (basic) fell further to 18.87 per cent. In the Fresh Open School category, the situation becomes even more dire, with Mathematics (Standard) at only 16.60% and Mathematics (Basic) at 14.00%, the lowest performing subjects in the entire results.This continued decline across systems suggests that mathematics is not just a difficult subject for one group of students, but a structural barrier that persists.Other subjects show fluctuations in all categories, but none drop as quickly or consistently as math. Even among weaker groups, subjects like Punjabi, Urdu, or Social Science manage to maintain relatively high pass percentages, often between 60% and 90%.The overall pass percentage of regular candidates was 89.60 percent, while the pass percentage of self-study (private) candidates was 70.02 percent. A total of 2,76,640 regular students appeared in the examination out of which 2,47,860 students passed. Meanwhile, 6,201 students were placed in the essential repetition (ER) category and will have to re-appear in the examination.Girls outperform boys in Haryana Board Class 10 exams once again. Out of 1,33,530 girls, 1,22,367 passed, making the pass percentage 91.64%.
