After grabbing attention with her special appearance in ‘The Ba***ds Of Bollywood’, Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for another big screen entertainer with ‘Gunmaaster G9’. The action-packed film stars Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana in pivotal roles, and marks Emraan’s teaming up with filmmaker Aditya Datt almost two decades after their previous collaboration. Producer Deepak Mukut recently shared updates on the film’s release plans, he also reflected on the performance of his previous production, ‘The Bhootnii’.
“Gunmaaster G9” will release in Dussehra 2026
According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers are considering a Dussehra 2026 release window for ‘Gunmaaster G9’. The producer has announced that October 16th is being considered as the main release date, while October 9th is also being considered. Talking about the strategy behind the timing, Mukut explained that the team is trying to choose a period that gives the film a better chance to connect with the audience without much competition from other big releases.
Mukut also mentioned that ‘Gunmaaster G9’ is designed as a massive action entertainer aimed at the audience who enjoyed Emraan Hashmi’s popular screen image since the mid-2000s. At the same time, he believes that the film’s music, action and overall treatment will appeal to younger audiences as well.In an interaction with the publication, Deepak Mukut also opened up about the difficulties he faced with his previous film ‘The Bhootnii’. While discussing the film’s performance, he admitted that the project faced screen-sharing issues during its release.Despite the challenges, the producer stated that audiences have responded positively to the film whenever it has managed to secure shows. He feels that the film could have performed better commercially if it had had a wider exposure. Deepak candidly shared that the experience made him more cautious while planning the release strategy for his upcoming projects, including ‘Gunmaaster G9’.
The shooting schedule for ‘Gunmaaster G9’ is underway
The producer has also revealed that the work on ‘Gunmaaster G9’ is constantly progressing. The team is gearing up to shoot an elaborate car chase sequence in Mumbai before moving to Uttarakhand and Delhi for the next schedule in June. Deepak also praised Genelia Deshmukh’s performance in the film, appreciating her effort in her role. Actor Riteish Deshmukh was said to be very impressed after meeting the character and praised the team for giving Genelia a strong role.
