In an interview with Amar Ujala, Govind explained how he got involved in the project. He said that he was first told that the film was titled ‘Sambhal’, and later the title changed to ‘Kala Hiran’. They also made sure that the film would show only court scenes related to Khan’s blackbuck case and nothing beyond that. Namdev made it very clear that he has a close bond with Salman and would never agree to be part of any project that targets or speaks ill of him. He also added that if he had known the true nature of the film, he would have refused to sign it without a second thought.

The actor said that he was very surprised and disturbed after watching the trailer of the film. He couldn’t believe how different the final product was from what he had been told earlier. We were never told that a character resembling Salman Khan would be created and misrepresented in the film. The moment I saw the trailer, I felt like I had been kept in the dark and used. There is a world between what is said and what is actually done.”

Govind admitted that he had no clue about the actual story of the film when he came on board. He shared that he was completely in the dark about where the film was actually going. Opening up about it, he said, “I was told that we were making a film called Sambhal. At that time, I had no idea that the story would later take a completely different direction.”

Namdev further recalled how the makers later told him about a new film called Kala Hiran, assuring him that it would depict what happened inside the courtroom in Salman Khan’s blackbuck case. Believing that the film would stick closely to the facts, he agreed to be a part of it. Sharing her side of the story, she said, “I was informed that there is only one long court scene and that’s all I had to do. It was also mentioned that nothing new was added from our end. We only had to show the audience what happened in court. I felt that if only the things recorded in the archive were shown, then there was nothing wrong, so I said yes. I cannot take any Bishnoi group as my ideal. I can’t even think about it. I thought I was only doing the court part. However, what has now come to light has also made me uncomfortable.”

This latest development comes days after Salman Khan’s legal team sent a strong legal notice to the makers of ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’. The advertisement alleged that the film is based on Salman’s ongoing blackbuck hunting case. Through the announcement, Salman’s team demanded an immediate halt to the film’s release. They also asked the makers to remove all posters and promotional materials related to the film. The notice also warned the managers that if they did not comply, they would face more serious legal actions in the coming days.
