According to Variety , filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki took the stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday and unveiled the first trailer for ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ to attendees. The trailer picks up two years after “Minus One” and follows the story of the survivors of the last kaiju attack, according to director Takashi Yamazaki. The trailer received a lot of cheers for its final moment, which showed Godzilla approaching the Statue of Liberty as the kaiju made its way through New York City.

Through a translator, the filmmaker added: “In this new film, an even deeper despair will descend upon Japan and the Shikishima family. Faced with overwhelming and inescapable force, how do people fight back?” He stated, “The journey from Minus to Zero will not be easy.“‘Godzilla Minus One’ focused on Ryunosuke Kamiki as Kōichi Shikishima, a former kamikaze pilot dealing with PTSD and survivor’s guilt when he faced off against Godzilla in post-World War II Japan.Godzilla Minus Zero’ opens in Japan on November 3, and in the United States on November 6.
