‘Gen V’, the spin-off series of ‘The Boys’, has officially been canceled and will not be returning for a third season.Confirming the development, executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg said in a joint statement to Variety: “While we would love for Godolkin’s party to continue for another season, we are committed to continuing the stories of the ‘Gen V’ characters in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You will see them again.’Interestingly, as ‘The Boys’ ends its five-season run on May 20, the franchise is expected to continue with its spin-off series ‘Vought Rising’, which will premiere in 2027. Additionally, ‘The Boys: Mexico’ remains in active development.The ‘Gen V’ season aired from September 29 to November 3, 2023 and the second season aired from September 2025 to October 2025. According to the report, several ‘Gen V’ characters are expected to appear in the fifth and final season of ‘The Boys’.In terms of viewers, the teen superhero series opened its second season with a strong 424 million minutes watched in September, ranking No. 8 on the Nielsen streaming Top 10 originals list. However, the show had a hard time maintaining the ranking.Set at the fictional Godolkin University, the series explored the lives of young superheroes navigating power, trauma and conflict in a world where tensions between humans and superpowered individuals are increasingly apparent. Season 2 introduced a new narrative, including a mysterious program related to the institution’s origins and the arrival of a new dean, played by Hamish Linklater.The show featured an ensemble cast of Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann and Sean Patrick Thomas.
