The Met Gala charity event is one of the most talked about events of the year. Organized around a theme each year, the event invites some of the biggest names in the world of entertainment and fashion to walk the red carpet steps and show off their best looks for the night. Although the guest list is long, there are some names that will probably never appear on it. Here’s a list of some of the biggest names in the industry who have either been banned or simply stated that the Met Gala might not be their thing.

Celebs banned from the Met Gala

US President Donald Trump has been officially banned from the Met Gala for all events. Anna Wintour, speaking on his show with James Corden, confirmed that she would never be ready to invite Trump to the event again. Donald Trump has not been photographed at the event since 2012, however, he has attended many dinners before.Tim Gunn has admitted that he has been completely banned from the Gala. Speaking to Fashion Police in an old interview, he said, “It’s very true. It’s a crazy story, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s very much a story.”Lili Reinhart, who recently appeared on the ‘Forbidden Fruits’ show, also stated that there is a high possibility that she will not be invited to the event again. The star was last photographed on the red carpet steps in 2022. However, after making a comment about Kim Kardashian, he stated that there are chances that he will not be invited again. Kardashian had previously been criticized for losing weight to fit into a Marilyn Monroe dress. Speaking to W Magazine, she said, “I don’t think I’ll be invited back… I said something about a certain person in a certain dress.”Nicki Minaj is another celebrity on the list who may have been banned from attending the Met Gala. Earlier this year, Naughty but Nice announced that it may not make the list due to some political comments it has made in the past. A statement from the report read: “Nicki’s invitations didn’t slow down, they disappeared. Hollywood stopped returning her calls. This is not subtle. He has been expelled.”

Celebrities who don’t want to go to the Met Gala

Amy Schumer, the famous comedian and actress is someone who totally doesn’t want to go to the Met Gala. Speaking to Howard Stern in 2016, she revealed that the glamped up event wasn’t her thing. He added at the time: “People are giving the impression that it’s an interview. I don’t like the farce… We’re dressed up like a bunch of asses. I don’t like it. I have no interest in fashion… it doesn’t matterFamous fashion designer Rachel Zoe also shared that she was banned from attending the Met Gala. Speaking to The New York Times, he commented: “Anna Wintour is one of my heroes, but they say I’m more influential. As big as Vogue is, it’s not going to change a designer’s business. But if an unknown brand is worn by a certain person in a tabloid, they’ll be the biggest designer in a week.” It has been reported that he was banned for making that comment, however, he was at the Met Gala in 2012, while the comment was made in 2007.‘Marty Supreme’ actress Gwyneth Paltrow is another on the list who has expressed her disdain for the Met Gala and is unlikely to attend the event as much. In 2013, while talking to US Weekly, he stated that while most of the time the incident seems like a perfect thing, that is not always the case. He added: “You get there and it’s really hot and it’s really crowded and everyone is pushing you.
