Filmmaker Santosh Kumar RS has told the Bombay HC that he has no grudge against Aditya Dhar

The legal tussles surrounding Dhurandhar: The vendetta has taken a new turn, with filmmaker Santosh Kumar RS informing the Bombay High Court that he has not made any more defamatory statements against the director. Aditya Dhar.

“He will seek legal remedies instead of speaking publicly”

According to Live Law, Kumar’s lawyer appeared before single judge Arif Doctor, who stated that his client would take the legal route instead of airing his grievances in public. The lawyer said Kumar’s earlier remarks were not directed at Dhar.Looking at the statement, Dr. Justice said: “That would be a tall order to overcome Mr. Counsel. I will make it clear that you will not make defamatory statements in the future.”

“Calling someone a singer in public is not okay”

Appearing for Dhar, Senior Advocate Birendra Saraf demanded a public apology from Kumar for his earlier remarks.“At least he should apologize… It’s not right to publicly call someone an asshole… He should apologize,” argued Saraf in front of the judge. However, Kumar’s lawyer opposed the request, saying that his client believes he can prove his allegations and therefore would not grant a pardon at this stage. The court formally recorded Kumar’s undertaking and withdrew the interim plea, making it clear that no further defamatory statements should be made during the pendency of the case.

Controversy over Dhurandhar’s script

The controversy was allegedly based on a script that Kumar had registered under the title Dhurandhar D Saheb. Denied the allegations, Dhar approached the court saying the claims were baseless and damaging to his professional reputation.Earlier this month, the court had already issued an interim order barring Kumar from repeating such statements pending further hearings. Dhar also issued a legal notice demanding the removal of the notices, but did not receive a response. Despite the ongoing legal friction, Dhurandhar: The Revenge—the sequel to the 2025 film—has performed strongly at the box office and remains in the limelight.
