Veteran actor Farida Jalal he has seen a lot in his personal and professional life, and he often talks about it. In an interview with Navbharat Times, Farida said that she had set a limit for herself and promised never to cross it. Has this rule ever been a problem for him? He replies, “Look. I decided to keep a certain limit and not go beyond it. However, I have reached this point. I’m successful, right? I’m still working today. The audience has given me so much love. Look, everyone can make money, through good or bad ways, but that respect and status is hard to come by. You have to make a lot of sacrifices for that.”
Farida Jalal chooses sister roles over hero roles
Despite being nominated for Best Actress alongside superstar Rajesh Khanna in Talent Search, how in her early career she mostly ended up playing the hero’s sister, she explained that she never wanted to be a hero. She says, “No, because then the heroes were singing. They were getting the songs and the nice clothes. The sisters were getting all the drama.” Great scenes are coming where I would be able to showcase my acting, so should I choose that or wear chiffon saris and sing? Why should I bother? When I get to do more in the role of a sister, why shouldn’t I do it?”.
