'Misinformation': Vinod Kambli's wife Andrea Hewitt hits back at health rumors

New Delhi: About Videos, Photos and Posts Vinod Kamble‘s deteriorating health is doing rounds on social media. Kambli, who played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India, has been in the news for some time regarding his health. They have been seen attending events and celebrations, often walking with crutches. However, there were also reports that the former cricketer is recovering.The matter recently came to light when his friend Marcus Cotto claimed that Kambli had a brain clot that affected his memory.Kambli’s wife Andrea Hewitt, however, dismissed the claims as false and said that misinformation about his health was being spread.“By God’s grace, Vinod is fine. I don’t know who is spreading wrong information about his health,” Andrea told India Today.His statement came after Cotto suggested that Kambli was dealing with a serious health issue.“Ever since he was admitted to the Thane hospital about 18 months ago, Kambli has developed a clot in his brain. His memory is not good. He remembers things and then forgets them. It’s all due to a clot in his brain,” Koto had said.

“Kambili has stopped drinking, but he smokes occasionally. Smoking is completely forbidden for him, as it puts him at risk of stroke, according to Dr. Adil Chhagla (renowned neurosurgeon), who is supervising Kambili’s treatment,” he added.“He (Kambili) seemed in good health. He and his family were in good spirits. Kambli now uses a cane to get around. His son (Cristiano) wants to be a cricketer. I requested Jatin Peranjape to enroll him in his cricket academy, and he immediately agreed. Of course, Jatin won’t charge anything,” Kambli’s son said.
