On his official Instagram, Koppikar uploaded a video of lax supervision of pubs, clubs and officials, stating, “This is not fun, this is pure negligence.” He described a recent case where a young girl became so drunk that she lost control, and a friend had to manage her fall. “Imagine if there were no responsible people, what could have happened?” he asked, pointing out the grave dangers at stake.

Drawing on her own experience as a mother of a 12-year-old girl, Koppikar expressed how personally these concerns affect her, asking the system to “Please strictly enforce the rules and protect our children.” He went further, imploring authorities and venues to put safety ahead of profit by enforcing strict rules. “I would like to say to them before profit, please look at responsibility. Responsibility comes first. Whether a bar or restaurant is owned by an influential or powerful person, it should not make a difference. The law cannot be bent based on status. There should be no difference, the rules are the same for everyone,” he added.

The actor further encouraged everyone to share the burden of responsibility, calling on parents to follow their parents closely and be active in their children’s world. He stated, “In today’s age, our children need guidance, boundaries and a safe environment the most. This is not a blame game. It’s about awareness, prevention and care. A small carelessness can change someone’s life. Don’t wait for a tragedy, wake up now,” he concluded.

The FIR, obtained by The Free Press Journal, alleges organizers violated underage drinking laws, after-hours events and security lapses that allowed drugs inside. Alcohol was served to under-25s, including the deceased Shreya Rai, despite legal bans.
