Ahead of her 50th birthday on July 13, the famous ‘Emmerdale’ actress was honored with a Member of the Order of the British Empire. Radio Times broke the news, sharing a list of all the other famous names who have received the honor.Other stars who have received similar honors, according to the list, include Helen Mirren, best known for her role in “Mobland.” They have been made members of the Order of Honorary Companions. ‘Noughts & Crosses’ writer Malorie Blackman has also been honored with the title of Dame. ‘Death on the Nile’ composer Patrick Doyle has also been made a member of the Order of Honorary Companions.

Reacting to the news, Riley couldn’t contain her excitement. She shared in a statement: “Wow, if this isn’t my best 50th birthday present, being awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honors List, I don’t know what is. I’m being awarded an MBE of the Order of the British Empire for my services to drama and charity.”He went on to add how grateful he is to receive the honor, adding, “To say I’m humbled is a complete understatement. To be able to act as an actor for 36 years now, to be without a day in our industry, is an honor in itself.”He spoke about all the people he is thankful for, adding that he is one of the ‘Emmerdale’ actors to receive this honour. She shared, “For me, playing the role of Mandy Dingle is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only that, being a woman in our industry, sisterhood means everything to me. The most beautiful feeling today is feeling my mom’s smile and her electric energy on my shoulders, her pride that her little girl ‘DID IT’!”
