Starring the much awaited Malayalam thriller ‘Drishyam 3’ Mohanlal and directed Jeethu Joseph It had a drop in collection on the second day at the box office. Despite its decline, the film is still going strong globally.
Day 2 collections see expected decline
According to Sacnilk, ‘Drishyam 3’ collected 11.05 crore nett on Day 2 in India. The film earned 15.85 crores on its opening day. That represents a 30.3 percent drop in Friday’s pickup.The film was screened in 4,886 shows on Day 2 compared to 5,506 shows on Day 1. Overall occupancy also fell from 51.3 percent on opening day to 44.5 percent on day two.With this, the film’s net collection in India now stands at Rs 26.90 crore. The gross collection in India has reached 31.18 crores in two days.
The overseas market of ‘Drishyam 3’ continues to be strong
Despite the decline in domestic numbers, the overseas market remained strong for the Mohanlal-starrer. “Drishyam 3” reportedly collected Rs 20 crore overseas on Day 2 alone.This has brought the total foreign gross to 45 million. The film’s worldwide gross collection now stands at a whopping 76.18 crores after two days in theaters.
Kerala leads the occupation numbers
Among all the versions, the Malayalam version continued to dominate the box office. The film collected ₹9.85 crore from the Malayalam version alone on Day 2.Malayalam occupancy remained strong overall at 61 percent. The night shows had the highest occupancy of 68.33 percent, and the evening shows 64.92 percent.Tamil occupancy stood at 38.05 percent overall, while Telugu occupancy was recorded at 18.42 percent. The occupancy of Kannada has been lower by 17.58%.Kerala also emerged as the highest performing state with a Day 2 gross collection of 8.85 crores. Karnataka followed with Rs 1.50 crore, while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 1 crore.
Mohanlal’s emotional theater wins hearts
The excitement surrounding ‘Drishyam 3’ got even bigger after Mohanlal joined the fans at the first screening on the first day.
