'Drishyam 3' box office collections Day 20: Mohanlal's film crosses 236 cr worldwide; He's still running strong

Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam 3’ continues its successful theatrical run despite seeing a drop in collections after a tough weekend. The crime thriller is still drawing audiences to theaters almost three weeks after its release.According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 40 lakhs on its 20th day in India. The figure represents a 20 percent drop from the Rs 50 lakhs net collected the previous day.

‘Drishyam 3’s worldwide gross collection reaches 236.11 crores

The film’s worldwide gross collection now stands at 236.11 crores. In India, the film has earned 107.33 crores so far. Its domestic gross collection has reached 124.51 crores. On day 20, the film added Rs 5 lakh from international territories. This took the gross overseas collection to Rs 111.60 crore.The Malayalam version was the top contributor to the film’s collections on Day 20. Out of the total earnings, the Malayalam version netted 39 lakhs. The Telugu version added Rs 1 lakh nett. The film was screened in 698 shows on Tuesday. The Malayalam version registered an overall occupancy of 11.15 percent.Kerala continued to dominate the film’s state collections. On the 20th, the state contributed a gross collection of Rs 43 lakh.

Jeethu Joseph reveals remake plans

Director Jeethu Joseph recently spoke about the future of Drishyam 3 in other languages. In an interview with Club FM, he revealed that the film is being adapted only in Hindi.He said, “Currently, Drishyam 3 is being developed only in Hindi. We initially thought that the climax doesn’t seem to suit the expectations of the audience in other industries. The Hindi team felt that the ending might be difficult, especially considering the image of their lead stars.”Jeethu Joseph further explained that the Hindi filmmakers were consulted before making any changes in the story.He added, “Even though they were free to make changes after acquiring the remake rights, they still approached us before doing so. They explained that the original ending might not work as effectively for their audience and that they were considering a different direction for the sequel.”Sharing his response, the filmmaker said, “They asked me for my opinion on these changes, and I gave them my approval.
