Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal reacted on social media after his team’s heavy defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in New Delhi on Monday.Josh Hazlewood took four wickets and Bhuvneshwar Kumar three wickets and Delhi were bowled out for just 75.In reply, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikal eased the chase as RCB won by nine wickets.
It was Delhi’s second straight defeat after Punjab Kings chased down 265 runs against them in the previous match.Parth Jindal posted on X, “Stay together now more than ever Delhi Capitals – It’s really hard to take but we must keep fighting and keep believing.”Delhi were reduced to 9 for 6 inside the powerplay, with Bhuvneshwar getting the swing and Hazlewood using the short ball well.It became their lowest score of the season, and RCB completed the chase comfortably.Captain Akshar Patel said he too could not explain what happened.“Even I don’t know what happened. That’s why they say you have to be on your toes in cricket. We have to move on from this match,” Axar said in the post-match presentation.He also said that small moments in earlier matches had affected the team’s momentum, including David Miller’s refusal to concede a run against Gujarat Titans and Karuna Nair’s dropped catches against Punjab Kings.“From today’s point of view, you can say it had an impact, but you can look back, if the catches had been taken (Nair) or if we had taken a single against GT, the momentum would have been with us. The game is such that there is no room for ifs and buts. You have to be positive, you had a bad day and take positives from the last 5-6 games,” added Axar.He also didn’t agree that there was unusual swing on offer, even as Bhuvneshwar’s in-swinger bowled debutant Sahil Parikh early.“I’m not surprised, they are world class bowlers, they swing it on every ground, but if our openers or top order had played them, the result would have been different.”
