Her father saw an ad in a local paper looking for extras in a music video, and encouraged her to audition and land her first on-set role.Speaking on an episode of the ‘Pod Meets World’ podcast, Elizabeth he remembered the moment he realized who directed that first shoot. “And all the time, I was with everybody, and I was following the director, and I was following the producer, and I wasn’t watching everything,” he said. “Well, it seems he was the manager Antoine Fuqua.”

Fuqua, 60, was working on music videos for artists Brian McKnight, Coolio and Prince in the early 1990s, before directing major films such as the 2001 thriller ‘Training Day’, starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke, and the 2026 biopic ‘Michael’. During the filming of the music video, Elizabeth stated, she was still at the beginning of her career.While directing Fuqua, the music video’s producer was in New York and encouraged the young strategist to consider modeling. Elizabeth was not particularly interested in modeling, but saw it as a potential avenue into acting. “And at the time, actors were doing commercials and models were doing commercials. So I thought, ‘Well, maybe this is a way to get in there and maybe get my SAG card,'” she explained.

The producer offered to visit Elizabeth’s family home to discuss the possibility with her parents, who were initially skeptical. “And my parents were very skeptical and said: ‘Why is this boy coming? During his last year’s Christmas vacation, the producer offered to contact photographers and agencies without asking for anything in return. “My parents were really surprised that he wasn’t asking for money. Just nine days after graduation, he decided to pursue his career instead of going to college or playing sports. “I decided to take the leap and do it and see where it led,” he said.
