On Friday, multiple reports suggested so Salman Khan has approached Delhi High Court To seek a stay in the film ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’, alleging that it violates his personality rights. According to the latest update, the court has issued a notice regarding the interim plea that the actor wants to refuse the release of the film. This is when the makers of ‘Kala Hiran’ released the teaser of the film which shows an actor like Khan wearing his signature bangle. The vacation bench headed by Justice Neena Bansal Krishna took up the actor’s plea, which is part of a wider suit filed by Khan to protect his personality rights. The court gave a warning to the defendants and it is planned to be judged on June 19.Representing the actor, advocate Nizam Pasha argued that the film’s promotional material makes direct references to Salman Khan and illegally exploits his identity. He informed the court that a poster released on May 29 featured a person who bore a striking resemblance to the actor and cited an earlier High Court order recognizing and protecting Khan’s personality rights.Addressing the court, Pasha said: “A film is being made exploiting my personality rights. We are seeking an injunction against this film. In total 4 FIRs, I have been acquitted in 3. Now a film is being made exploiting my personality rights. Every day my name is lost in the press. We are seeking an injunction against the film. The trailer was released this morning.”The court then asked about the release date of the movie. In response, Pasha stated that although the trailer had already been revealed, no release date had been announced yet.“We request that this project be mandated,” he said. The court cautioned that the defendants should be notified before further consideration of the order. In his petition, Salman Khan has alleged that the film is inspired by 1998 blackbuck poaching case and his alleged conflict with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. According to the plea, the promotional content features the actor wearing his signature blue bracelet, a feature that has become closely associated with him over the years. The actor has also objected to a poster depicting the alleged lookalike carrying a rifle or firearm. The allegation says the images create a misleading narrative, particularly because Khan was acquitted in the Arms Act proceedings related to the case. The petition also claims that despite receiving a legal notice on April 24, the filmmakers continued to promote the project and shared content allegedly linking the film to the actor.Describing the film as a violation of his recognized personality rights, Salman Khan has sought immediate court assistance to prevent the development, production, promotion and release of ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’ pending adjudication of the case.
