The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a detailed advisory for candidates appearing for the CUET UG 2026 exam, which lays down the strict dress code and protocol on the day of the exam. The aim of the guidelines is to ensure smooth conduct of the examination and prevent any security related issues at the examination centres.With lakhs of students expected to appear for the national level entrance exam, NTA has asked the candidates to strictly follow the instructions mentioned in the official notification. The agency has also advised students to reach their exam centers early for security checks and checks.
NTA CUET UG 2026: Dress Code Rules
As per the advisory candidates have to wear light colored, half sleeved clothes. Clothing with large buttons, embroidery, or multiple pockets is not permitted.For footwear, candidates are advised to wear slippers or low-heeled sandals. Wearing shoes and boots is strictly prohibited in the examination centers.The NTA has also said that candidates who are required to wear specific attire due to religious or traditional reasons must report at least one hour before the reporting time so that proper screening can be completed.
NTA CUET UG 2026: Other Guidelines
Candidates appearing for CUET UG 2026 must carry a printed admit card for attendance purposes, a valid government photo ID card like Aadhaar card, PAN card, or passport, and a passport size photograph.NTA has strictly prohibited all electronic devices inside the examination hall. This includes mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices and other communication devices.Also, candidates are not allowed to carry stationery items such as calculators, geometry books, or loose papers into the examination centre.The agency has also made it clear that candidates arriving after gate closing time will not be allowed entry under any circumstances.
