Students who cleared the COMEDK UGET 2026 exam and received their rank cards on May 29 can now enter the admission phase, as the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has started the counseling registration process for engineering and architecture courses. Candidates who want to participate in the counseling have to register online first and complete the document verification. Only those students whose documents are approved by COMEDK will be allowed to participate in the selection filling and seat allotment rounds.More than 150 participating colleges across Karnataka will admit students through a centralized online counseling process.
How to Register for COMEDK UGET 2026 Counselling
Students can complete this process through the official COMEDK portal.
- Log in to COMEDK Portal Using the same credentials used during the exam application.
- Click on “Counseling Registration” tab.
- Pay a non-refundable counseling registration fee of Rs.2,000.
- Open the “Document Upload” section and upload all required documents.
Once the status changes to “Document Approved”, candidates are eligible for the next stage. They will be able to participate in choice filling, select preferred colleges and courses and participate in Mock Allotment Mock Allotment helps students to understand their probable seat based on current preferences before the final round 1 allotment.
COMEDK UGET 2026: Seat Allotment Selection Explained
After the seat is allotted, students should choose one of the following options:
- Accept and Freeze: Keep the allotted seat and exit further rounds.
- Accept and Upgrade: Keep the seat but be eligible for a better option in later rounds.
- Reject and Upgrade: Reject current seat and wait for better allotment.
- Opt out and withdraw: Opt out of the consultation process entirely.
Candidates who do not take decision after seat allotment will be considered rejected and withdrawn and will not be considered for further rounds. The counseling process will be conducted through multiple rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Round 4 for KKR candidates.
