CM Vijay and Sangeetha divorce case adjourned again, next hearing on August 7

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and the divorce case of his unknown wife Sankgeetha Sornalingam has been adjourned for hearing of the case in Chengalpattu Family Court on Monday.According to an IANS report, neither Vijay nor Sangeetha appeared before the court. Their legal representatives attended the hearing on their behalf and informed the judge of the situation. As a result, the procedure could not proceed as expected.

The next trial is scheduled for August

Since both parties were absent, the judge decided to adjourn the case. The court has posted the case for further consideration on August 7.This is not the first time the case has been delayed. The issue has had several hiatuses in recent months. In the previous hearings too, Vijay and Sangeetha were absent, represented by their lawyers before the court.

A video conference request has been made

According to reports, requests were made for permission for the couple to participate in the proceedings via video conference. The petition reportedly cited security concerns and the practical difficulties of physically attending court.The court had previously adjourned the case until June 15, after hearing the proposals of both sides. However, as neither party appeared on Monday, the case has now been further delayed.Sangeetha filed for divorce in December 2025 in Chengalpattu Family Court. In the petition, she asked for the dissolution of the marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. He also sought alimony and permission to continue living at the family residence in Neelankarai, Chennai.
