DC Studios is daring fans to “stare fear in the face” with the release of the teaser trailer for the horror film “Clayface.” The film, which will be released at the end of the year, brings the iconic villain of the shape-shifting Batman to the screens.Tom Rhys Harries He will debut as Clayfacethe director James Watkinsand starring Tom Rhys Harries, the horror film will explore the origin story of the iconic character – Matt Hagen. The film, similar to the comics, features Matt as a struggling actor who undergoes an experimental medical procedure after his face is disfigured in a knife attack.Although the treatment is initially successful, it quickly turns into a horror show, turning Matt’s face into a clay substance capable of reshaping itself into different shapes.Clayface trailerThe trailer opens with Hagen lying in a hospital bed, his face bandaged and on a feeding tube. The clip then flashes back to moments in his life, depicting his slow physical deterioration, his face morphing dramatically, losing all chiseled features.The film also stars Naomi AckieWith David Dencik, Max Minghella and Eddie Marsan.About ClayfaceClayface is one of the first villains in the Batman universe, making his debut in Detective Comics #40 in June 1940.
