The director said that the Story begins in Ithaca, where Penelope and Telemachus wait for Odysseus after the Trojan War. It’s a kind of original non-linear narrative. You start halfway through the story,” he said.Nolan explains that the film begins in Ithaca, where Odysseus has not returned home. “We begin with Ithaca. We begin with the song of Odysseus,” he said. “Everyone is sitting, okay, we know the Trojan War ended 10 years ago. Where is he? He’s not back.”The director then explained Penelope’s position in Ithaca. “Penelope must repel all those suitors who want to be the new king,” he said.He adds that Odysseus has been gone for a long time. “He left 20 years ago.
