Compton-Rock shared fond memories of the day Instagrampraising his daughter for her exceptional academic achievements. On the carousel, their daughter, Zahra, wore a red and gold graduation cap along with a gown and cap. He is a Class of 2026 graduate of the USC School of Dramatic Arts and Dana and David Dornsife Letters, Arts and Sciences. Meanwhile, the proud parents posed with their daughter on stage in the audience. The rest of the photos were of their friends and family, who gathered for the party.

“Congratulations, Zahra! Your mom and dad, and your whole family, are so proud of your extraordinary academic achievement,” Compton-Rock wrote of her happy emotions in the caption, before adding: “Your lifelong love of literature led you to earn a degree in English (Narrative Studies) from the University of Southern California, where you graduated with honors these past few days! cherish it forever.”
He also continued to thank the family who helped them in the event. Thanking her daughter, Compton-Rock shared kind words about how thoughtful, compassionate and brilliant Zahra has become. “I don’t know if I’ve told you enough, but reading some of your articles has left me in awe of your ability to synthesize complex literature with such insight and depth,” he wrote in the caption. Commenters were quick to congratulate Zahara with red hearts throughout the episode.
