[John] and me [from] giving money, giving time, writing about the things we care about.’
Chappell Roan for being privileged enough to delete his social media accounts
While speaking on the matter, he mentioned that he is in a place where he can easily delete his social media accounts and move away from that space on his own. However, many people have become addicted to it, and it is difficult to separate the artist from such platforms even if he is a good person.“But that’s hard for a lot of artists, because if you’re really relying on social media to fuel your drive, that can be really frustrating, and it can feel very hopeless. I’m in a very privileged position where I can say, ‘I’m not going to do that, and I’ll be fine’. But not everyone likes that,” he concluded.Over the years, he has talked about staying completely away from social media. Last year, in another interview, she explained how she quit social media and had to remind herself not to read what was written about herself online because it would make her so angry.
